Orlando Vacation 2007
The Drive Down
Uneventful at best, which is terrific for a long drive to Orlando with kids. We left Saturday
(10/06/07) morning and drove to Milledgeville Georgia. We had bologna and chili
dinner with Med and Norma Pugh (Marcy's Grandparents). Charlie and Marcy stayed at
the Pugh's house and Mary and I drive 20 miles to Dennis and Barb's house on Lake
Sinclair. We stayed in the guest house above the garage. This house is amazing. It's
out on a peninsula of its own on the lake and it's really a terrific looking place. I'll let the
pictures describe it. (Jim, do you still have the picture of this place from the air?)
The kids fell asleep pretty quick. Drew on the couch and Sara in the kitchen in her pack
& play.
We woke up Sunday and met Med and Norma for breakfast at the local McDonald's
before heading to Orlando. At the McDonald's Lindsay found some pirates friends ( I
think they were bikers but who wants to tell her that, so we took a picture with the
pirates!)
We got to Orlando about 6pm and checked in to the Sheraton Vistana Resort. The lines
were already starting. The line to check in was probably 50-60 people deep. UGH.
Our condo is nice. A two bedroom, two bath, with full kitchen and laundry. You can
check the resort out. The Resort
Taco Bell for dinner and some Sunday Night Football. (Not much different than home)
Except Mary Ann and Marcy went for a walk by the pool. (Miller build a pool and save me
the drive! :-))
Charlie has us going to a "sell you a condo" breakfast in the morning so we'll see what
the day brings!
My favorite memory from the drive down:
Mary Ann was playing some children's gospel music that I guess Drew didn't want to
hear. After severely unsuccessful requests for her to turn it off Drew just started singing
along...TURN IT OFF ....TURN IT OFF...in tune to the music. I don't know where he gets
that!
Charlie's memory from the drive down:
Marcy was talking on the phone giving medical advice to Matt and Zach said "mom,
you're just making that up"!
Marcy enjoyed spending time with Med and Norma on the porch swing.
Mary Ann can't think of a favorite memory from the last two days.
The line to check in the
Sheraton!
